Festival of Trees

We had the Festival of Trees dance performance yesterday, and this is our little star. She was so great in her dance that I thought I'd post the video. It's a little shaky because Jake kept grabbing my hand and wanting to look at it, but it's super cute. Hope you all enjoy!
She is the 3rd from the end.

The WHOLE month....where did it go?

We have been so busy that posting on my blog has been non-existent. I thought that I'd better get this done now, or there would really be no time next month. I have some pics of everything in here, but mostly just this month, since it has been crazy. We had a great Halloween with lots of parties and fun. Really, by the time Halloween had come, they didn't want to be in their costumes anymore. Morgan didn't even wear most of hers. It's pretty crazy. Now on to the holiday season. I can't wait for Christmas music to start. I LOVE this time of year!

This was the crew going around our parents neighborhood. This is both my sisters kids', and Jason's brother and sister's kids. So fun we caught up with them. The kids would just run from house to house. It totally reminded me of being a kid again.

We went to the pumpkin patch with Morgan's school. This is the one Jake picked. Just the right size!

Morgan's pick!

The group of sillys! They are all making their "silly" faces. Notice, they are all doing the same thing! :)

My sister came with her daughter and we sure had a lot of fun!

These are my little "goblins" only they were Buzz Lightyear, who I have to say looks so DANG cute! and our little purple witch who looks equally as cute. I love these kids!

We went to Boo at the Zoo the saturday before Halloween and had so much fun. My sister and I decided to buy a season pass there since the kids loved it so much! The baby elephant and baby giraffe were huge hits!

Almost there!

Pretty close!

Cute crew.

I took some pics out in the backyard and thougth they turned out pretty good.

My nephew Zach, the only fish caught on this trip! We had fun in the Uintahs!
Good times!

Giddy UP!

Who can believe that we are in September and 3 months away from Christmas? I know I can't! These past few months have flown so fast that I haven't been able to keep up! We have been super busy as you can tell, but we've been having lots of fun at it! Morgan has started Pre-school again and is loving it like she always has. Her teacher is the best at making her feel very special and I think that makes Morgan happy. I know it makes me a happy mama! Jake is slowly getting used to the quiet at the house while she's gone. Good thing it's during his nap time so he really can't tell if she's gone too long. I know I kind of miss having her around asking me a bazillion questions all the time. Good thing it's only for 2 hours, 3 days a week. I don't know what I'll do when she is in Kindergarten! AHHHH!
Last weekend we went with my family to the Utah State Fair's Rodeo. We sure had a great time and the kids LOVED it! Morgan asked my mom so many questions, that I don't think mom got to watch most of it. Thanks family for a great time!
This is a great picture of Jaker. He's got the best smile, when he smiles! :)
PRCA rodeo. It wasn't as good as past years, but it was good non-the-less.

She is looking so grown up to me all of the sudden..

Riding horses, SUPER happy. Really he was, he kept saying, Gid up horse!

She is a natural on a horse. She kept asking me to buy one for her.

Patiently waiting for the horses.

Morgan loves her Miss Patti!

Camping/Fishing on the Boulder over Memorial Day weekend! Beautiful.

Discovery, something new, and beautiful scenery...

We have decided to enjoy the last little bit of summer, even though it's slipping away too fast! We went to the Children's Museum at the Gateway yesterday. The kids had fun, but not as much as I had hoped, oh well, it was a great adventure. The fun part was the running through the fountain. Of course, because that doesn't cost any money. Isn't that usually the way it goes? Morgan got right in there and wet, but Jake held back and had more fun playing on the lamp posts than running through the frigid water. Typical. I love being able to spend my time with these sweet kids. I have truly been SO blessed!

Pose!

Running back to his favorite lamp post.

I don't think journalism is in his near future. Hmmmm.

It might be for her though.

The life flight helicopter freaked him out a little but he got the courage to stay in there, ALL by HIMSELF!

It was really cool to see what these look like inside.

They are getting their groove on.

This was one of the favorite spots for Morgs.

Maybe cashiering is in her future?

Jake wouldn't get near this horse, but morg happily sat for a pic.

The ball area was a huge hit with J. He sure loved watching the balls go this way and that.

She's amazed too.

Tuesday was Morgan's very first soccer game....EVER! They didn't win, but they gave it a good effort, even if they had NO idea what they were doing. It definitely was "herd" ball because they stuck right by the ball the whole time. She was so excited to play and even woke up early that morning because she was ready to go. I love this time of her life. What fun!
We went camping up to Currant Creek reservoir last weekend and had a blast. Everyone but Mike's and Staci's family's were there. It was bloody hot saturday but was cool and rained on Sunday. It was beautiful. Thanks to my brother Paul and his family we got to go 4wheeling, and boy was it DUSTY. Just take a close look at all our faces to see what I mean. It was quite comical. Thanks for the good times everyone! Can't wait for Labor Day!
The dusty riders themselves.

The beautiful scernery.

Morgan found the biggest "wish" I've ever seen. I don't know what they're called but they turn into dandelions on grass. It was funny to watch these guys blow it out.

I really didn't do any makeup that day, it's ALL dirt! Lovely. Note to self, don't put on chapstick right before you go riding in the dirt.

My favorite people, minus Jake, who was back at camp having a nap. Thanks Mom and Dad for staying and letting us go and have fun. You're the bestest!!!

The other morning the kids were in the other room drinking their favorite yogurt, danimals, or so I thought, when I hear Jake, "MOOOOOOMMMMMMMYYY!" He comes in the kitchen covered in yogurt. It was funny because he was trying to open it up and when he got it opened, it just blew up in his face. I thought it was too funny.

My little funny kids. They love to put on mom and dad's shoes and try to walk around. The best is watching Jake try to navigate Jason's shoes. :)

Giddy up, cowboy!

Today we went to the Davis County fair with my sister in laws, mother in law, and cousins. The kids had so much fun at that dirty place. Seriously, it was pretty gross, but the horse riding was a HUGE hit! They also got to pet alot of goats, sheep and look at some big bulls. They had the longest horns I have ever seen. I wonder how these animals are so tame, do they sedate them? Seriously, with all the noise and stimulation you'd think they'd go crazy, but they just sit there and let little kids hang on them. Weird, if you want my opinion. Anyway, it was still fun to go and check out the animals, and of course, to get a balloon. We couldn't leave without one. Thanks girls, we had a great time with all of ya!

This was a fun water game where you try to get your ducky down the pipe the fastest. Jake was really into it.

Aunt Missy showing Jake how it's done.

Morgan wanted her picture by this cow, but wouldn't stand very close. She's so funny.

They could brush the cow. Weird.

Petting some goats.

Jake loved the animals, he couldn't get enough of the little goats and their horns. I just didn't get a picture of that.

Animal lover.

Doing the wave.

He wasn't quite sure if he liked it or not. I had to be right there by him the entire time.

I don't know about this!

Paitently waiting for their turn. It took about 30 mins in line.

This was the happy Jake, before we had to wait 3o mins.

If you're close, you should go check it out. It's a fun little family activity, and its FREE! That makes it even better. Just remember to bring 2 cans of food and you get to park for $1 instead of $3!

Trauma Tuesday

So yesterday I was at work and I got a phone call from Staci saying, "Jake fell down the slide onto a toy truck, and I think he needs stitches." Now this is coming from my sister, the nurse, so I called the Dr. and they said to come right in. Today of all days! When I saw his cut, it didn't look really bad, but the way the blood looked, really red and rich looking, I knew it wasn't just superficial either. So we got the numbing stick in the owie, (which wasn't too bad), but when he had to have the drape over his face, you would have thought we were trying to kill him. I had to hold him down by lying on top of him and holding his hands together. I couldn't believe how strong this little kid is. By the time we finished, I was drenched in sweat and he was foaming at the mouth. Can I just say, traumatic, not just for him, but for me too! I'm so glad we have a great Dr. that takes good care of us when we need it.
Here are some pics today of the little mishap. I took the gash pictures on my phone and I don't know how to upload them, sorry. He gets to have them out on friday, so it won't be too long until he's looking normal again. I do have to say though, he has been such a trooper and he LOVES to have a bandaid on and especially a Superman bandaid! You just got to love kids. I'm sure this is only the first of many visits to the Dr. Lets just hope they are few and far between. ;)

Camping and serious bravery....

We headed up to the Uintas this past weekend. Jason had been in Florida all week and so all our us needed some R&R. What a great place we have so close to home to enjoy the outdoors. We love going up to the mountains as much as we possibly can. We were driving down the Mirror Lake Highway and here on the side of the road was a mother moose and her baby. It was quite awesome. We sure had a great time, and we'll be back this next weekend. I just can't wait!

We took a day hike to Ruth's Lake. It was a great hike and didn't take too long to get there. This picture is me saying, "Smile everyone" and Jake running to me saying, "I see, I see". He just wants to see the picture, not be in it!

Morgan is getting good at taking pictures by herself.

Love, Love, Love this picture.

Showing their "muscles"

We went fishing at Lily lake and Morgan wanted to wade. She even said it wasn't too cold. Yea right!

Gotta love flashlights. Anything to keep the kids busy.

My adorable family. Love them!

This is Morg loving having her dad back home. She sure missed him SO much!

My big guy. Can't believe how big he is already.

So Morgan has been bugging me to get her ears pierced for a while. Jason said it was fine with him if she got them done, so last Wednesday we went to Claire's at the Gateway and she took the plunge. She was so brave and only cried a little after each one, but when she saw the earrings, she was pretty stoked and the tears were dried up. She looks so cute with them in and she's been so good and taking care of them so far. She just can't wait to wear dangly earrings, but that won't be for another 6 months. Oh, well, we got some fun, cute ones for the interim. Way to go Morg, you're AWESOME!
